Data Engineers’ Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer you will help build the architecture that drives the business.
The data engineer is someone who develops, constructs, tests and maintains architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems. The data engineers will need to recommend and sometimes implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Tools and Components of Data Architecture.
- In-Depth Knowledge of SQL and Other Database Solutions.
- Data Warehousing and ETL Tools.
- Hadoop-Based Analytics (HBase, Hive, MapReduce, etc.)
What You Need?
You will need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software/computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics or a related field and a lot of real-world experiences, such as internships, to qualify for most entry-level positions.
2+ years of Programming or scripting experience (Scala, Python, PHP).
