A Storekeeper plays a crucial role in offshore operations, ensuring that supplies, spare parts, and consumables are properly managed, tracked, and distributed to keep the vessel running efficiently. Puglisevich, on behalf of Floatel International (FI), is currently hiring a Storekeeper II for its offshore operations in Newfoundland, Canada.
This is a full-time contract position based on the Floatel Endurance, a semi-submersible accommodation and construction support vessel (ASV). The Storekeeper II will report to the Chief Engineer and collaborate closely with the First Engineer and Chief Officer to oversee inventory, logistics, and supply chain operations onboard.
Key Responsibilities
The Storekeeper II is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting logistics operations. Below is a detailed breakdown of the responsibilities:
Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Receive and register all incoming goods, spare parts, and consumables.
- Verify shipments against cargo manifests to ensure completeness and quality. Any shortages or damages must be reported immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of all stock using a data-based inventory system.
- Organize spare parts according to the SFI coding system, ensuring proper classification based on urgency and lead time.
- Conduct regular stock checks to ensure minimum required inventory levels are maintained.
- Manage the storage and distribution of spare parts, ensuring they are kept in good condition.
- Track and monitor items sent ashore for repair or return, ensuring proper documentation.
Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination
- Oversee daily logistics activities between the vessel and the onshore supply base.
- Prepare and maintain cargo manifests for all return goods.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented and reported.
- Collaborate with the onshore logistics team to ensure timely delivery of essential supplies.
Safety, Compliance, and Hazardous Materials Handling
- Ensure proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials, maintaining up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor expiration dates and proper storage of hazardous materials to prevent safety risks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free storage area.
- Comply with Floatel International Management System (FIMS) requirements, ensuring that all inventory processes meet regulatory standards.
- Follow ISPS security protocols as assigned by the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
- Report any safety issues, near misses, or non-conformances to the management team.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to workplace safety regulations at all times.
Emergency Duties and Vessel Support
- Participate in emergency response drills as outlined in the Muster List and Emergency Response Manual.
- Assist in emergency situations by following safety protocols and supporting crew members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as requested by shipboard management to ensure smooth vessel operations.

Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Storekeeper in a relevant industry (offshore, maritime, logistics, or warehousing).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to use inventory management software and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory efficiently.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations in an offshore environment.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical work when required.
Health & Screening Requirements:
- Must pass a Physical Examination.
- Must pass a Drug and Alcohol Screening.
- Must pass a Background/Pre-Employment Screening Check.
Work Environment & Employment Details
- Location: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada.
- Type of Rig: Floatel Endurance (Semi-Submersible ASV).
- Rotation Schedule: 28 days on / 28 days off (equal time offshore and on leave).
- Contract Type: Short-term contract (6.5 months).
- Supervision: No direct reports (N/A).
- Department: Engine Crew (reports to the Chief Engineer).
- Salary Range: CA$101,000 – CA$106,000 per year.
